DESIGN APPROACH

A future urban zoned site close to Auckland's north-western precinct is the subject of this feasibility design exercise. The feasibility was required to assess the local real estate market possibility by an overseas property developer who was not very familiar with the Auckland situation. 

 

Several different housing typologies have been explored to develop various sizes of housing blocks to develop three different alternative site plan options. The study includes the preparation of a development framework including possible roading connections within and around the site to future proof any development into the broader area. To undertake the necessary discussion with the local Council officials, it was important for the design team to understand Council's vision for integrated public transport and cycle metro network within the area.
